Mr Gerrand qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1989. He completed his higher surgical training in Glasgow and undertook fellowships in Orthopaedic Oncology and Lower Limb Reconstruction at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2001 and in 2018 joined the Sarcoma team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He is Cancer Lead at RNOH and chairs the Sarcoma Advisory Group for the London and South East Sarcoma Network. He is an Honorary Assistant Professor at UCl with research interests in surgiical aspects of care, functional outcomes and rehabilitation and 3D printing
