Born 27 October 1956 in Oslo, Norway. Graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Tromsø, Norway, in 1989. Practising surgery since 1992 in various Norwegian hospitals. Board certified specialst in general surgery and gastroenterological surgery. Member of the Sarcoma Group at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo, since 2011. Clinical research on GIST. Thesis (PhD) in 2021, Re-appraisal of prognostic factors in primary gastrointestinal stromal tumour: refining definitions.
Married, father of one son. Author of a collection of poems (2022). A Norwegian translation of a selection of Emily Dickinson's verse will be published in December this year.
