Richard Yoon, MD, FAAOS, orthopedic surgeon, is the Director of Orthopedic Research in the Division of Orthopedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction at Jersey City Medical Center.
Dr. Yoon specializes in treating fractures and arthritic pain with non-operative and operative interventions, fracture and joint replacement care for the clavicle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, pelvis, hip, knee, and ankle. He also specializes in minimally invasive direct anterior total hip replacement.
Though he is a surgeon, Dr. Yoon believes in exhausting all non-surgical options before offering operative intervention. Instead, his goal is to treat a patient based on their needs and desired outcome and function, depending on their diagnosis.
Dr. Yoon received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School-Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey and completed his residency at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City. In addition, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma and adult reconstruction at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida. He is Board Certified in orthopedic surgery. He was also an AO Trauma Davos Fellow, attending the prestigious Master’s Courses in Davos, Switzerland.
Dr. Yoon is a member of the American Orthopedic Association. In addition, he is an emerging leader in the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Associate of Hip and Knee Surgeons, AO Trauma of the AO Foundation, and the Foundation for Orthopedic Trauma.
