Dr Marc Isler (short Bio)
Dr Isler received his medical education and then his orthopedic surgery training at the Université de Montréal. He completed respective fellowships in orthopedic oncology (adult and children) and pediatric orthopedics (1993-1995) at Harvard University in Boston. He is Clinical Professor at the Department of Surgery, Université de Montréal, and heads the department of Surgery for the CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Ile-de-Montreal (a multi-institutional health network for the east of Montreal).
Dr Isler is an Orthopedic Surgeon with Sub Specialties in Musculoskeletal Oncology and Pediatric Orthopedics. He is currently on staff of the Departments of surgery at Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital and Sainte Justine Hospital in Montreal.
In 2004 he joined the Hemophilia program at Saint-Justine. In 2010 he initiated a multidisciplinary team to treat and advance clinical research for patients with Hemophilia at Hopital Maisonneuve Rosemont.
Dr Isler has extensive experience clinically, professionally, academically and in research. Previously head of the orthopedic surgery program at Université de Montréal, he has taught over 50 courses, directly supervised 14 graduate students’ research projects, participated in over 45 research projects, and has published over 30 articles and 4 book chapters. He has been active member of many related professional organizations and has presented at numerous scientific conferences nationally and internationally.
