Dr. Philip Lupo is an epidemiologist and professor of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, where he directs the Epidemiology and Population Sciences Program in the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center. One of Dr. Lupo’s research interests is leveraging population-based registry data to inform our understanding of the genetic etiologies pediatric cancer. This work is facilitated through his involvement in the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), where he is Chair of the Epidemiology Committee, and the National Birth Defects Prevention Network, where he has served in various capacities, including President. Examples of his current research projects include: 1) the Reducing Ethnic Disparities in Acute Leukemia (REDIAL) Consortium, 2) the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Study, and 3) the NIH-funded Genetics of Embryonal and Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Study (GEARS) Study.
