Medical student
Department of Surgery, Sarcoma Service, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy
Milano, Lombardia, Italy
I am now a last-year medical student in University of Milan, Italy. University studies and Dr Mukherjee’s book “the emperor of all maladies” played a huge role in my developing passion towards Oncology. Clinically speaking, I was first introduced to soft tissue tumors in the Sarcoma Unit of Milan. Since then my growing interest and passion for both Surgery and Oncology has strengthen my resolve to become a surgical oncologist. I am also particularly fond of research, as I was lucky enough to be involved in two international retrospective studies on the impact of pregnancy in women with desmoid fibromatosis and on low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma and sclerosing epitheliod fibrosarcoma. Beside many university-related activities, I attended in August 2022 the ESO-ESSO-ESTRO Multidisciplinary Course on Oncology for medical students at Antwerp University Hospital. In September 2023 I attended an enlightening elective placement in the Sarcoma Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham.
