Juan Díaz Martín, PhD, is a molecular biologist at the Department of Pathology-HUVR and Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla (IBiS), with extensive experience in cancer research. He leads a line of innovation in molecular diagnostics in sarcomas with direct applicability in the clinical practice. He is currently principal investigator (PI) of a project funded by GEIS (Grupo Español de Investigación en Sarcomas) for the implementation of a molecular-testing platform for precision diagnostics and personalized care of sarcoma patients. He is an active participant in European consortia that focus on clinical validation of prognostic and predictive biomarkers in Ewing sarcoma. He is also involved in GEIS clinical trials supporting central pathological review, and coordinates the implementation of new technologies for the centralization of the diagnosis of sarcomas in specialized centers (IMPERAS). As coordinator of the molecular diagnostic lab for sarcomas, he has established long-lasting relationships with biotech companies and has secured several collaboration agreements.
