Hugo Saint-Yves interest in health sciences started during his college career at Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup. He then discovered his passion for clinical research in a hospital environment during his internship at the end of his Baccalaureate in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Montreal within the sarcoma research team at Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital in 2012. He continued his academics studies by completing a microprogram in postsecondary education as well as a higher education diploma specialized in drug development, clinical research option.
He subsequently stood out in our team by completing his master's degree in drug development under the supervision of Dr. Marc Isler and Dr. Sophie Mottard. The subject of his master's degree "The establishment of an access corridor in Quebec for patients with suspected high-grade musculoskeletal tumors" served as the first step for the creation of the Quebec Sarcoma Network, officially recognized by the government of Quebec on May 22, 2018.
He then joined Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital full-time in 2015, lending a hand to Ms. Janie Barry in the expansion of the orthopedic research team. He is now an integral part of the orthopedics department, contributing to the advancement of research in sarcomas but also in sports medicine and the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases in the population suffering from bleeding disorders.
