Filipa arrived at the University of Bath in 2015 as the Project Manager for the COST Action Maths for Industry Network at the Institute for Mathematical Innovation. From November 2018 until October 2022 , she held the post of Project Manager (University Research) reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research).
From 2013-2014 she was the Technical & Facilities Manager at Warwick Medical School. At Warwick Filipa also held a Project Manager post to deliver the (£10M) Translational Medicine arm of the Science City Research Alliance from 2009-2013.
Ahead of embarking on a Professional Services career in HE, Filipa worked at the Wellcome Trust, 2005-2008, managing grant awards, peer review as well as project managing a component of the Grand Challenges for Global Health a joint initiative with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Filipa completed two Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at Imperial College (2001-2005) researching G-protein coupled receptors their role in signalling and wound healing.
She has an interest in research policy, integrity, ethics and culture to enable good quality ethical research that benefits society. She is a patient advocate for survivors of osteosarcoma.
