I serve as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Sarcoma at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. In this role, I work closely under the mentorship of Jonathan Trent, M.D., Ph.D, and Gina D’Amato M.D. in the serving the clinical needs of sarcoma patients in South Florida and more broadly. I am also involved in the development and participation of numerous clinical trials within the institution. I currently serve as the primary investigator on four clinical trials and sub-investigator of more than 20 trials dedicated to the advancement of treatment options for sarcoma patients. Additional areas of interest include evaluating disparities among sarcoma patients. At the University of Miami, we have a uniquely diverse population of patients and I have dedicated time to evaluating the molecular differences in our Hispanic versus Non- Hispanic Population and survival outcomes.
I additionally serve as the Inpatient Director of Medical Oncology. In this leadership role I am directly involved in the management of all cancer patients in the hospital setting at the University of Miami, including staffing, treatment, and quality improvement. Most recently, I have been working in partnership to develop the inpatient clinical research program in order to expand our clinical trial capabilities to inpatient treatment regimens at the University of Miami to better serve our community.
I am dedicating my career to becoming a clinical researcher in the field of sarcoma.
