Associate Professor, Orthopaedic Oncology
Portland VA Medical Center
Passionate about caring for patients with benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors, I am an orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty of musculoskeletal oncology. I believe that what we measure is what we improve - this applies both to assessing outcomes that matter most to patients, and to how we train healthcare professionals of the future. My research is focused on the large-scale clinical data of the Veterans Healthcare Administration databases, looking at metastatic bone disease and other topics. I am a member of the Oregon Health & Science University Sarcoma team at the Knight Cancer Institute, part of an amazing multidisciplinary team caring for patients around the Pacific Northwest. In addition to database-driven research, we participate in multi-institutional trials such as PARITY and SAFETY, and I lead translational trials using the CIVO platform at OHSU.
