Dr. Douglas Harrison is a Pediatric Oncologist with expertise in bone and soft tissue sarcomas with a particular focus on childhood and adolescent rhabdomyosarcoma. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas where he serves as a clinical attending physician in the Non-neural solid tumor section in the Division of Pediatrics. Dr. Harrison completed his fellowship training in pediatric hematology oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City where he served as Chief Fellow. After fellowship, Dr. Harrison joined the faculty at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he led the programs in pediatric neuro-oncology and pediatric solid tumors. Dr. Harrison is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group Soft Tissue Sarcoma Steering Committee where he serves as Study Chair of two national multi-institutional COG studies in refractory soft tissue sarcomas and as the Vice-Chair of the phase III intermediate risk rhabdomyosarcoma clinical trial which recently closed to accrual. Dr. Harrison completed a Masters in Clinical Science from Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City in 2016. At MD Anderson, he has served as the Chair of the Pediatric Sarcoma and Solid Tumor Team in the Division of Pediatrics and currently maintains a leadership role within the clinical research infrastructure of the division in addition to serving as the Center Medical Director for the Division of Pediatrics.
