Dr. Chiara Colombo is a dedicated oncologic surgeon working at Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Tumori di Milano from 2011. Her journey into the world of medicine began at the University of Milan, where she pursued her degree in Medicine and Surgery, graduating in 2003 and she completed her specialization in General Surgery in 2009. She then spent 18 months at the Dina Lev Laboratory in Houston, Texas, dedicated to conducting both basic and translational research in particular on desmoid fibromatosis. Her groundbreaking work contributed valuable insights into the mechanisms and potential therapeutic avenues for desmoid fibromatosis. The experience in the has allowed for the expansion of her knowledge, creating a bridging role between the clinic and the laboratory. Moreover, her tenure at the lab established a fruitful international collaboration between the two Instituions.
Currently, she is primarily engaged in clinical and translational activities with a particular focus on desmoid fibromatosis.
Beyond her career, Dr. Chiara Colombo values her personal life. She cherishes the time spent with her child and friends and finds relaxation in swimming, reading and hiking in the moutains. As Dr. Chiara Colombo looks ahead, she remains devoted to her mission of advancing cancer research and treatment for her patients.
