I am a clinical scientist and surgical oncologist working at the Molecular Pharmacology Unit and the Sarcoma Service of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, Italy. Our translational research focuses on the identification of new therapeutic targets, the study of modifiers of tumor response, with a special emphasis on mechanisms of resistance to therapeutic options, as well as the exploration of prognostic and predictive markers for soft tissue sarcomas. To achieve these goals, we employ molecular profiling of sarcoma samples treated at our sarcoma units at INT and utilize a comprehensive collection of patient-derived models representing various sarcoma histologies. Additionally, we are interested in investigating changes to the sarcoma immune microenvironment induced by neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
