MD Student
University of Calgary, Canada
My name is Samuel Brown and I am a medical student at the University of Calgary, Canada. I recently earned my Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and am enthusiastic about continuing my studies and work in the field of oncology. My MSc thesis, "The impact of clinical irradiation on tumour cells and the microenvironment of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma," leveraged a novel bioinformatics approach to gain insights from spatial transcriptomics data.
With a diverse academic background in kinesiology, bioinformatics, transcriptomics, and now medicine, I am eager to collaborate and learn from both new and familiar faces in Dublin.
Hailing from rural Alberta, I not only possess a deep interest in the biomedical aspects of sarcoma but also a strong commitment to improving cancer care in non-urban settings.
As a trainee in the field, I am still shaping my vision for my future career. I welcome all forms of advice and wisdom related to research positions, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, general practice oncology (GPO), and any other cancer-related domains. Feel free to reach out during the conference; I’m excited to see everyone in Ireland!
