Bioinformatician
Health Research Institute-Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (IIS-FJD, UAM),, Spain
My background lies in the fields of Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology, and I earned my International Master of Science degree in this realm. My experience and specialization encompass various aspects of these domains.
During my academic journey, I had the opportunity to build robust bioinformatics pipelines across diverse "-omics" fields, such as genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. These pipelines have been instrumental in translating complex biological data into meaningful insights. My proficiency in programming, statistics, and data mining has played a crucial role in extracting valuable information from intricate biological datasets.
Moreover, I am proud to mention that I am fluent in both English and Spanish. This proficiency enables me to collaborate seamlessly with researchers and experts from around the world, facilitating effective communication and knowledge exchange.
In my current role as a bioinformatician investigator within the Advanced Therapies and Biomarkers in Sarcomas (ATBSarc) group at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz, my work involves conducting investigation on Sarcoma clinical trials through translational research. The primary objective of our group is to evaluate the effectiveness of novel advanced therapies. This role allows me to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and its practical applications in the medical field.
I mainly consider myself a translational researcher, which means I am dedicated to transforming scientific discoveries into tangible advancements that can directly benefit patients. This role requires collaboration across disciplines and a deep understanding of both bench-side research and clinical applications.
This journey has highlighted the immense potential of integrating bioinformatics, molecular biology, and translational research. By synergizing these disciplines, we are not only unraveling the complexities of diseases like Sarcoma but also striving to bring innovative therapies to those who need them the most.
In conclusion, my passion for bioinformatics and research drives me to explore new horizons in healthcare.
