Project Manager and Postdoctoral Research
Instituto de Investigaciones Sanitarias Fundación Jiménez Díaz, Spain
I am a Cellular and Molecular Biologist, holding a doctoral degree from the Autónoma University of Madrid in 2021. My research during my doctoral thesis focused on studying chromosome organization during meiosis and its evolutionary conception in various mammalian, marsupial, and monotreme species. I delved into the composition, dynamics, mechanisms regulating sister chromatid cohesion, DNA repair, centrosome and meiotic spindle regulation, epigenetics, and transcriptomics.
Following my thesis, I sought to expand my knowledge and research experience. I undertook a postdoctoral research position in the "Magee Women's Research Institute," affiliated with the "UMPC Hospital" and the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. There, I investigated fundamental mechanisms necessary for generating viable germ cells, spanning primordial germ cells, spermatocytes, oocytes, and their age-related changes.
Currently, I hold a postdoctoral position at the Sanitary Research Institute - Fundación Jimenez Diaz, working under Dr. Martín-Broto's research group. I am excited to apply the scientific and professional expertise gained throughout my learning journey and contribute to top-notch projects related to sarcomas in the country. My commitment to cancer research is evident through my experiences, including studies on cancer bioenergetics and metabolism during my time at CIB-CSIC, translational cancer research at URJC, and the study of chemotherapy-induced pain management.
Furthermore, I am concurrently serving as a Project Manager for a significant European project under the H2020 framework, named "Sarcoma as a model to improve diagnosis and clinical care of rare tumors through a European and Latin American multidisciplinary network" (SELNET). This initiative aims to establish a collaborative network of clinical and translational specialists to enhance sarcoma diagnosis and care, subsequently extending its impact to other rare tumors and countries. My role entails ensuring efficient project execution, meeting objectives, respecting timelines, and effectively managing resources, in close collaboration with the research and medical team.
