Clinical Research Coordinator
Fondazione IRCCS Instituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Italy
I am Daniela Salvatore, Clinical Research Coordinator at the Department of Sarcoma Oncology Surgery at the National Cancer Institute of Milan. I hold a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Bologna in 2015 where I firstly delved into oncology world. I continued my journey in the field of oncology by obtaining a PhD in Molecular and Translational Medicine from the University of Milan in 2020. In the meanwhile, between 2018 and 2019, I spent a 6-months period as PhD fellow at the University of Leeds, where my professional and personal growth, as well as my proficiency in the English language, experienced exponential growth. Furthermore, my subsequent post-doctoral experience of nearly two years has allowed me to further refine my background in oncological research, particularly as I aspired to reach higher levels and approach the realm of direct interaction with oncological patients through the clinical research. In this way, I began my career as Clinical Research Coordinator at the National Cancer Institute of Milan since 2021, where I have further enriched and matured my background in the field of Oncological Clinical Research. Every day, I am exposed to new challenges and involved in increasingly competitive and engaging clinical projects and studies. One year ago, I had the amazing opportunity to join the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group (TARPSWG) as of the role of Data Manager. Also, since March 2023 I had a brilliant chance to become part of the Study Coordinators of the ISG Confederated Trial Center, which has further motivated me to bridge the gap between regulatory developments in clinical research, such as Regulation 536/2014 (CTR), and the experimental centers, shading the light towards the Study Coordinator at the heart of this mediation process.
