Armando Santoro served as a Vice Director / Director of the Division of Medical Oncology at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori of Milan, Italy, until 1997. In 1997 he became the Director of the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology of Istituto Clinico Humanitas Milan, Italy. He currently works as the Director of Humanitas Cancer Center and the Director of Clinical Research at the same Institute. He is Member of the Working Group on Oncology Therapies of Italian Drug Agency, Member of the Planning Committee, and Expert Member of the National Centre for the Prevention and Control of Disease of the Ministry of Work and of Health and Social Politics in Rome, Italy. Dr. Santoro has published more than 400 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He received an M.D. degree from The University of Messina, Messina, Italy, in 1974. He also completed a Postgraduate training in clinical and experimental oncology, The University of Paris, France, 1976; clinical and laboratory hematology, The University of Rome, Italy, 1977; oncology, The University of Genoa, Italy, 1979. His areas of expertise include malignant lymphomas, lung cancer, soft tissue sarcomas and rare tumors, bone marrow transplantation, gastrointestinal tumors, development of new biologics drugs.
