I, Geoffroy Danieau, started my research career in 2016 as a Ph.D. student supervised by Dr. Rédini and Dr. Brounais-Le Royer in the lab INSERM UMR1238 PhyOS, specializing in calcified tissues, bone remodeling, and bone sarcoma. I have conducted fundamental research in pediatric oncology, specifically in the pathological context of osteosarcomas. The objective of my Ph.D. research was to understand better the biology of osteosarcomas, specifically through the prism of the intracellular pathways. Thanks to the lab's expertise in pediatric bone tumors and its strong experience in using in vitro and in vivo models, I could further understand the molecular mechanisms involved in the metastatic dissemination associated with the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. After obtaining my Ph.D. in cell biology and oncology in 2019, I contacted Dr. Livia Garzia (RI-MUHC, Montreal, Canada), who leads a cancer research team focused on sarcomas' genetics to understand recurrences and metastatic spread better. Since then, I have been a postdoctoral fellow involved in the lab Biobank, Osteosarcoma, Ewing Sarcoma, and Rhabdomyosarcoma Patient-Derived Xenografts generation. These powerful models allow us to study these cancers' pathogenesis, including tumor growth, chemotherapy response, and metastatic dissemination.
