Teresa received her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, specializing in human biomechanics, at the University of Ottawa in 2017. Prior to her Doctorate, Teresa completed her MSc in Human Kinetics and the University of Ottawa in 2011 and her BScH degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph.
She has worked at OHRI since 2017 and is currently a Senior Clinical Research Associate in the department of Clinical Epidemiology at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute facilitating investigator led research studies with the Ottawa Minimally Invasive Gynecology research team in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Newborn Care. Her research interests include the use of 3D patient specific anatomical models for surgical planning, the use of 3D motion capture in surgical education, understanding the impact of pain has on physical function, and advancing ultrasound imaging techniques for diagnosing and monitoring uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Her skills include primary data collection from human participants, biosignal data processing, clinical epidemiology study design and statistics, and translational research methods.
She isworking with the department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics to facilitate projects for the 3D printing and 3D segmentation VR labs.
