Nishele Lenards is a Professor and Director of the Medical Dosimetry Program at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
Originally from Ohio, she completed radiography education at Akron City Hospital & University of Akron and then advanced to Radiation Therapy School at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Nishele relocated to Minnesota to work at the University of Minnesota and completed on the job training in medical dosimetry under the supervision of Dr. Faiz Khan. In addition to medical dosimetry, she has been a manager and supervisor in radiation oncology. Nishele completed a Master of Science degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin – Stout, including a certification in e-learning and online teaching. She also completed a PhD in Education at Northcentral University with a specialization in education technology & e-learning. Currently, she manages the program, teaches medical dosimetry curriculum, participates in research endeavors, and performs anatomical contouring for a radiation oncology clinic.
Professionally, Nishele has been active in the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD) serving on the board of directors, including President of the AAMD. She has served as a member and co-chair on various committees and task groups, as well as Associate Editor and Reviewer for the Medical Dosimetry journal. Nishele has authored numerous publications in the journal and has also presented at local, regional, and national conferences.
For her outstanding contributions to the profession, Nishele was elevated to Fellow of the AAMD in 2012 and the following year in June of 2013 she received the AAMD Award of Excellence.
