I am a staff radiation oncologist who specializes in looking after adults with brain tumors and any child that needs radiation at the Cleveland Clinic. I am passionate about using our radiotherapy tools in a thoughtful way to improve outcomes while reducing impact on our patients’ everyday quality of life. I am really enjoying developing a pediatric, adolescent, and young adult radiosurgery and SBRT program. I believe these tools are underutilized in our younger patients. I have given several talks on these topics along with written several papers and currently writing a protocol to further investigate SBRT for our sarcoma patients all in hopes of sharing knowledge about these highly focused tools with the oncology community and improving outcomes.
I also am involved with our pediatric and adult brain tumor patients. I have an ongoing institutional gamma knife radiosurgery trial for patients with large brain metastases who will undergo surgery. I have an interest in understanding why low grade glioma patients have such heterogenous outcomes and what leads to their tumors undergoing malignant transformation. I am continuing to learn everyday and excited about developing clinical trials for these patients utilizing radiotherapy tools that have minimal impact on QOL.
