Zachary Kahn was born in Flemington, New Jersey. At the age of six, he relocated to Hooksett, New Hampshire, where he lived until he was 18. He attended high school at Pinkerton Academy, where he graduated in 2019.
Zachary began studying at Northeastern University, in 2019, majoring in Health Science, with minors in French and Nutrition. He became a certified EMT in 2020. With his EMT license, he worked for Fallon Ambulance during the COVID-19 pandemic to conduct nasal and nasopharyngeal tests, as well as administer intramuscular vaccinations for SARS-CoV-2. He has also volunteered as a CPR instructor, and piloted a Naloxone training program through Northeastern University's Emergency Medical Services club, where he ran the CPR department and is serving as the Co-President for 2023-2024.
Zachary has additional clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is involved with the community service organization Circle K International, the world's largest collegiate-led community service. He is serving as the International President of Circle K International, for the 2023-2024 year.
In terms of research experience, Zachary worked for a semester as a Health Equity Intern, assisting with multiple early childhood development projects. He started working as a Co-op Student in the Janeway Lab in January of 2023, and has continued to work with the lab. His work at the Janeway Lab has encompassed a range of projects focused on pediatric solid tumors and targeted cancer therapies.
Zachary is expected to graduate from Northeastern University in 2024, with an Honors Bachelor of Science degree. Following graduation, he will be applying to medical school, with the aspiration of becoming a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
