The clinical and translational research activity is focused on the study of new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of pediatric onco-hematologic diseases. The main topics are the following: a) classical chemotherapy, with new, less toxic drugs; b) targeted therapies with monoclonal antibodies or small molecules that inhibit specific intracellular targets; c) inducers of tumor specific immune response such as CTL and CIK; d) isolation, identification and expansion of hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells and possible mechanisms of tissue regeneration.
