Hyojin earned her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology at the Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, on the applications of transcriptomic studies in human cancers using Bioinformatics. Afterward, she worked at the Department of Genomic Medicine, SNU Hospital, where she built her skills in analyzing and interpreting multi-omic datasets of cancer patients based on the understanding of unmet needs in precision medicine. Currently, she is working on investigating isoform diversity in diverse sarcoma subtypes using novel sequencing technology and discovering optimal candidates for (immuno)therapeutic targets in fusion-driven sarcomas by integrating single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing datasets, under the supervision of Dr. Sorana Morrissy at the University of Calgary, AB, Canada.
