Dr. Hiroyuki Tsuchiya is now the professor emeritus of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kanazawa University, Japan and the Director of Yokohama Sakae Kyosai Hospital.
He graduated from Kanazawa University medical school in 1983 and got
Japanese medical license.
He started to study and work in the musculoskeletal oncology field from 1986, and also was involved into limb reconstruction with external fixator from 1989.
He developed "caffeine-potentiated chemotherapy for bone and soft-tissue
sarcomas", "tumor reconstruction using distraction osteogenesis
procedure", "tumor reconstruction using tumor-bearing autogenous bone
treated by liquid nitrogen", "antimicrobial iodine coating for
orthopedic implants", “cryo-immunological treatment” and more. He also achieved numerous basic researches in both orthopedic and oncology fields.
He is now an honorable member of Japanese Orthopedic Association and a board member of "International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS)" , "ASAMI-Japan", “APMSTS, and a director of many Japanese medical societies.
Furthermore, he has more than 800 English publications regarding tumor
biology, tumor surgery, trauma, distraction osteogenesis, pediatric
orthopedics, and so on.
