Lecturer
Nagoya University Hospital, Japan
My name is Hiroyuki Kidokoro. I was originally born in Saitama prefecture in Japan and now I am a senior Lecturer in Pediatric Department at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, Nagoya, Japan. I study neonatal brain injury and brain development in human by using brain MRI, EEG, and recently using EEG-functional NIRS. My interest in neonatal neurology began as a resident because I have much experiences to treat patients with PVL. I did my PhD in Medicine at Nagoya University. My Japanese mentors were Prof Watanabe and Prof Okumura. I had an opportunity to study abroad at Washington University in St. Louis, US. My mentor was Professor Terrie E. Inder. She and I developed MRI scoring system for preterm infants.
