Postdoc Research
IRCCS Istituto Scientifico Romagnolo per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori (IRST) "Dino Amadori" S.r.l., Italy
Dr. Jenny Bulgarelli is a PostDoc Researcher and is current the coordinator of the Clinical and Experimental Immune monitoring platform in the Immunotherapy, Cell Therapy and Biobank Unit of IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori (IRST) "Dino Amadori". She obtained the bachelor degree in Biotechnology in 2008 and the master degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2010 cum laude, then the PhD in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine in 2014, at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Her studies were mainly focusing on the role of the tumor microenvironment in chronic lymphocytic leukemia pathogenesis, in particular studying the role of EDN1 and EDNRA-B receptors signaling pathway in leukemia cells survival and unravelling molecular mechanisms involved in hematopoietic progenitors cells lineage commitment [Maffei R. et al Haematologica 2013, Maffei R. et al PlosOne 2014 (co-first authorship), Bianchi E. et al Cell Death Differ 2015].
In the last few years she has been studying solid tumors immunology and cancer immunotherapy with particular focus on melanoma tumor heterogeneity and dendritic cell-based anti-cancer vaccines [Bulgarelli J. et al Cytotherapy 2018, Bulgarelli J. et al Frontiers Immunology 2019, 2021]. Now she is currently working on optimizing anti-cancer cell therapies and exploring mechanisms of immunological response to treatment.
