I am a medical biotechnologist with a PhD in Oncology, Hematology and Pathology awarded at the University of Bologna, Italy. Since 2016, after M. Sc. degree, I started working with Prof. Lorenzo Montanaro studying the role of pseudouridine synthase dyskerin and RNA modifications in breast cancers obtaining my PhD in 2019. In December 2019 I joined Prof. Davide Maria Donati and Dr. Enrico Lucarelli's group at the Laboratory of Orthopedic Pathology and Osteoarticular Tissue Regeneration, Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna. During this period, my research projects focused mainly on the development of ex vivo bone metastasis models using medicated nanostructed biomaterials. Currently I work with Dr. Enrico Lucarelli at the Regenerative Therapy in Oncology Unit and Dr. Toni Ibrahim head of the Osteoncology, Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas and Innovative Therapies Unit at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna. My research focuses on bone primary tumors, bone and soft tissues sarcomas and bone metastasis, in particular my main interests are: 1) development of in vitro and ex vivo 3D models; 2) study of the molecular pathways involved in the pathogenesis and progression of the disease; 3) study and validation of functionalized biomaterials for disease treatment and tissue regeneration.
