University of Calgary, Canada
Carolina Salazar Arcila is a senior technician and lab manager at the University of Calgary. She
is a member of Dr. Michael Monument’s sarcoma research laboratory. As a research technician, she has worked with transgenic mouse models of cancer, SAVI and STING. Most recently, her work has focused on studying STING using a transgenic mouse model made by Dr. Frank Jirik's group. Carolina works with a hSTING-transgenic mouse to study tumour growth and immune cell activation to treat soft tissue sarcomas. Her interest in research extends beyond mice and immune cells as she thoroughly enjoys mentoring and helping students succeed in the lab. As lab manager, she is the first point of contact for resources within the lab and plays an integral role in the student experience.
