I am a dedicated and passionate professional with a background in cancer research, driven by a profound interest in experimental surgery. My academic journey began on a high note, as I graduated with Honors in Behavioral Neuroscience from Concordia University in 2021, setting the stage for my future endeavors.
My commitment to the world of science has taken me to the forefront of cancer research under the guidance of two mentors. I have been privileged to work as a Lab Assistant, contributing to Osteosarcoma Cancer research at Dr. Livia Garzia's Lab at the MUCH Research Institute. In this role, I have actively contributed to projects involving tissue analysis and cellular structure visualization, among other vital tasks.
Additionally, I have enriched my cancer research background further by working at Dr. George Zogopoulos's Lab, where I have been instrumental in extracting DNA and RNA from tissue and blood cells, performing laser capture microdissection (LCM) techniques, and conducting surgical procedures in mice for disease modeling.
My academic journey continues to evolve, and I am thrilled to announce my upcoming enrollment in the MSc Experimental Surgery Thesis Program at McGill University, commencing in Fall 2023. This exciting endeavor will further deepen my expertise and knowledge in the field of experimental surgery.
My experiences in both Dr. Garzia's and Dr. Zogopoulos's labs have nurtured a strong commitment to advancing cancer research and surgical innovation. While my background in cancer research is still developing, my journey has been characterized by an unwavering passion for continuous learning, and I am dedicated to making substantial contributions to the scientific community.
