Joris Jaekers is a Consultant in Hepato-Biliary, Pancreatic and Gastric surgery at the University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium with a focus on minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic surgery). He studied Biomedical Sciences and then Medicine at the University of Leuven between 2002 and 2010. He has worked at various hospitals across Belgium as well as the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter, UK before undertaking a Fellowship in HPB and Gastric Surgery at the University Hospitals Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Dr Jaekers is a board member of the Belgian Society of HPB Surgery and a member of the International/European-African HPB Association. He has authored or co-authored a number of publications and presented at National and International congresses.
