My research goal is focused on the development and characterization of patient-derived xenograft (PDX) tumor mouse models in order to translate the use of PDX models in the identification and validation of therapies for pediatric cancer. I have applied my prior experience in next generation sequencing in optimizing the genomic validation of pediatric PDX models developed by our group. My work in PDX models has resulted in publications illustrating the utility of PDX models within a pediatric precision medicine framework. I hope to continue my work in integrating insights from the genomic characterization of pediatric cancers with our collection of established PDX models to guide future precision medicine efforts and with the goal of identifying and validating effective therapies for childhood cancer.
