Dr. Tseng is a surgical oncologist with subspecialization in adult soft tissue sarcoma (STS). His specific clinical and research interests are in well differentiated / dedifferentiated liposarcoma and retroperitoneal sarcoma (RPS). He has been a long-standing member of the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group (TARPSWG). Through TARPSWG, Dr. Tseng has helped to optimize care of the RPS patient with efforts to understand the role of neoadjuvant systemic therapy and management of recurrent disease.
Dr. Tseng obtained his medical doctorate from Northwestern University, then did general surgery training at UCSF and a surgical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. After eight years at the University of Southern California where Dr. Tseng led the Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Program, he joined City of Hope (COH) National Medical Center in 2022. He is currently co-leader of the Melanoma/Sarcoma Disease Team at COH. He recently joined the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Panel of the US National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
Dr. Tseng has also been involved in patient advocacy and has written several articles in mainstream media promoting sarcoma awareness. He has been an active participant in Sarcoma Alliance, where he serves on the Medical Advisory Board and Board of Directors. He is also a strong supporter of Wendy Walk and the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation.
