Dr. Emily Rav graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Cell and Molecular Biology degree. She then went on to earn a Masters in Medical Health Sciences and her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University in California. She completed her pediatric residency at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Westchester, New York. She then moved to Houston to begin her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. During her fellowship time there, under the mentorship of Dr. Nancy Gordon, she was selected to present her research for podium presentations at three national conferences. She was honored to win the Oral Abstract Presentation award for her work using CD70 CAR NK cells to target osteosarcoma. During her fellowship, she also collaborated with the hospitalist and supportive care teams to find new ways to treat refractory pain and became inspired to pursue a fellowship in pediatric palliative and hospice medicine. She is continuing her training at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center currently as a fellow in pediatric palliative and hospice medicine.
