Dr. Sylvester Jusu is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pediatrics, MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research goal is to understand and characterize the metastatic spread of osteosarcoma and mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy. His current focus is to delineate clonality, clonal drivers and molecular mechanistic pathways leading to osteosarcoma lung metastasis. Under the guidance of his mentor Dr. Richard Gorlick, he has established numerous PDX barcoded osteosarcoma in vtro and in vivo mouse models of metastasis. Dr. Jusu uses various next generation sequencing techniques to unravel the mechanisms of osteosarcoma lung metastasis.
