Medical Student
Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
Martina Hale is a third year medical student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. After graduating from Princeton in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, she traveled to San Francisco where she participated in the development of CAR-T therapies for multiple myeloma at UCSF. This is where she first fostered her deep passion for cancer research and longitudinal care of oncology patients. She then moved to Cleveland to begin her medical education at the Cleveland Clinic. There, her curiosity was piqued by orthopedic surgery. Under the mentorship of Cleveland Clinic's Dr. Lukas Nystrom, she melded her passions for oncolgy and orthopedic surgery by pursuing research focused on surgical interventions to improve patient outcomes. Outside of medicine, Marti loves spending time hiking, develoing new recipes to bake, and doing the crossword with her partner.
