Dr. Emile Gogineni serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, where he focuses on head and neck cancers and proton therapy. He initially graduated from residency at Northwell Health, after which he joined Johns Hopkins University as an Instructor and Fellow. Despite spending several years conducting basic science research in infectious disease and critical care labs at the National Institutes of Health, he now focuses more on clinical and translational research at OSU primarily related to particle therapy and head/neck cancers. He serves as the Principal Investigator on a trial studying ultra-hypofractionated preoperative proton therapy for soft tissue sarcoma and was awarded funding to support its opening. He functions as a Junior Faculty Advisor for the Radiosurgery Society, where he founded and leads a committee focused on publishing case-based guidelines related to the use of stereotactic radiation for each oncologic subsite to guide clinicians while providing residents nationally and globally opportunities for mentorship. He serves on several NRG Oncology committees, including the Head & Neck Committee, the Recurrent/Metastatic Working Group, the Particle Therapy Working Group, and the New Investigators Committee. He is also a member of the ACR Radiation Oncology Education Committee, where he leads the Webinar Initiative.
