Attending surgeon
Sarcoma Service, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, Italy
Ever since the final years of my specialist training in general surgery at the University of Milan, I have harbored a deep passion for the world of GIST, soft tissue, and retroperitoneal sarcomas. To deepen my knowledge in this field and simultaneously develop several research projects that have culminated in significant international scientific publications, I earned the Abdominal and Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, completing my training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Subsequently, I returned to the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto nazionale dei tumori in Milan, where I currently serve as a specialized surgeon within the Sarcoma Unit.
My principal aim is to develop, promote, and implement a care pathway for sarcoma and GIST patients based on the principles of multidisciplinary management, evidence-based medicine, and best clinical practice. The foundation of this process begins with a continuous focus on clinical research.
