Zeger Rijs is a PhD candidate at the department of Orthopedic Surgery, Leiden University Medical Center. He is currently working on two PhD projects:
1. Fluorescence-guided surgery: The goal is to facilitate sarcoma surgeons to distinguish malignant from healthy tissue, thereby improving radical resection rates and clinical outcomes.
2. Carbon-fiber reinforced polyetheretherketone (CFR PEEK) implants: The aim is to investigate the safety and effectiveness of patients treated with innovative radiolucent CFR PEEK implants.
