Attending physician
Hospital Nino Jesus, Spain
I hold a degree in Medicine and Surgery and I am a specialist in Pediatrics with a focus on Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Since 2018, my primary professional activity has been as a medical researcher at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, Spain, specifically in the Phase I/II Clinical Trials Unit, which I have been leading since 2021. I participate as a researcher in more than 60 clinical trials focused on various pediatric solid and hematologic tumors.
My main areas of interest are the pathogenesis of oncologic diseases and the development of new therapies, with the ultimate goal of increasing survival in childhood cancer and reducing the long-term toxicity burden experienced by these patients.
I am a member of the executive committee of the Spanish Network of Pediatric Clinical Trials (RECLIP). Additionally, I am a member of the Spanish Group for Research in Sarcomas (GEIS) and the Spanish Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (SEHOP), where I participate in the New Therapies working group. On an international level, I am a member of the European Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOPE), a member of the European Neuroblastoma Consortium (SIOPEN), a member of the FOSTER consortium (Fight Osteosarcoma Through European Research), and participate in the solid tumors committee of the Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer Consortium (ITCC).
