I grew up in San Juan where my aspirations for medicine led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Biology at the University of Puerto Rico. In my later years of my undergraduate degree, I began to get involved and interested in research through working with faculty in translational projects. I now have the privilege of pursuing my second year in medical school close to the communities I grew up in. My current research projects alongside Mayo Clinic involve oncologic orthopedic surgery, specifically soft-tissue sarcomas. During my free time, I enjoy cooking and visiting the beach.
