Marta completed her MSc in Genetic Counselling at the University of Toronto in 2007 and became certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling in 2009. She worked for nearly a decade in the general paediatric genetics clinic at McMaster Children’s Hospital. In 2016, she moved to the Adult Genetics Clinic at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital. Currently, she has an integral role in the multidisciplinary Adult PKU Clinic, and also follows patients in the general adult genetics and metabolics clinics for a broad range of diagnoses. She previously contributed to various gene and variant curation initiatives and was involved in a pilot study in mainstreaming in kidney and hematological cancer. Marta is actively involved in the University of Toronto MSc Program in Genetic Counselling as a clinical supervisor.
