Sarcoma Advanced Nurse Practitioner

After qualifying as a registered general nurse with the Mater Hospital Dublin, Una worked in various medical, surgical, PACU and intensive care units in Ireland and New Zealand before returning home and completing her post graduate diploma in oncology. Starting off her oncology career in breast cancer, Una then spent the past 13 years as a surgical oncology co-ordinator in Tallaght Hospital, caring for upper GI, pancreatic, hepatobiliary cancers and soft tissue sarcomas. Una took up the role of candidate advanced nurse practitioner in sarcoma in August 2022 and is currently completing her masters in advanced nursing practice in Trinity College Dublin. Una is committed to increasing awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma among health care professionals and the public so that patients are diagnosed at an earlier stage, improving survival and quality of life.
