Dr. Timothy P. Cripe, M.D., Ph.D., is Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he holds the Gordan Teter Endowed Chair, and is a tenured Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the NCI-Designated Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Princeton University with a degree in Biochemistry. He received his medical, graduate (Ph.D. in genetics), and pediatric residency training at the University of Iowa. He undertook his pediatric hematology/oncology training at Children’s Hospital, Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Children’s Hospital in Denver. He held faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center prior to moving to Ohio State. Dr. Cripe is the principal investigator of an NCI-funded research laboratory studying novel viral and gene immunotherapies for pediatric solid tumors. He is the former Chair of the FDA Cell, Tissue, and Gene Therapy Advisory Committee and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Therapy-Oncology. He is also co-founder and share-holder of Vironexis Biotherapeutics, Inc., developing single-shot adeno-associated virus delivered cancer immunotherapies.
