Postdoctoral Fellow
Masonic Cancer Center University of Minnesota
Kyle B. Williams Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. David Largaespada at the University of Minnesota. He obtained his Ph.D. in microbiology, where his previous training focused on the biochemical and genetic aspects of bacterial cell-to-cell communication, signal transduction, and interactions with the innate immune system. After joining the Largaespada laboratory, Dr. Williams has focused on using genome engineering technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9, to create cell line based tools for conducting chemical and genetic screens to investigate NF1 biology and drug susceptibility. He is a previous Children’s Tumor Foundation Young Investigator and Children’s Cancer Research Fund Emerging Scientist awardee. Dr. Williams is excited to apply his knowledge of synthetic lethal genetic and drug sensitivity screening to both neurofibromatosis type 1 and cancer biology.
