Genetic Counselor
Medical College of Wisconsin
I am an Assistant Professor in the Institute for Health Equity and Program Director of the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling graduate education program. My expertise includes the application of genomics principles, genetic conditions, and testing technologies to the practice of genetic counseling. This involves the promoting integration of psychosocial needs and client-centered decision-making into genetic counseling interactions. Additionally, I have vast experience in evaluating personalized genetic risk through analyzing family history, risk modeling, and integrating clinical and laboratory data. I communicate genomics information to patients and their families by tailoring information based on the audience, using a variety of approaches, and conveying probabilities based on patient risk perception and numeracy.
