Staff, Surgical Oncology
Sarcoma Service, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, Italy
I am Dario Callegaro, a surgical oncologist working at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, Italy. I completed my university and general surgery residency training in Milan before undertaking a Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Toronto in 2018-2020. My practice is entirely dedicated to caring for patients with soft tissue sarcoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. I have been a part of the Sarcoma Service at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, Italy since 2017, which is recognized as one of the leading sarcoma referral centers in Europe. My primary research focus revolves around developing and implementing prognostic models for patients with soft tissue sarcomas of the extremity and retroperitoneum. I am one of the creators of 'Sarculator': the app for smartphones and tablets used for predicting the prognosis of patients with soft tissue sarcoma. I enjoy being part of, contribute to and learn from the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group since its very beginning. Within the group I am now coordinating the Education Committee and the Educational Webinar Series (https://tarpswg.org/webinars).
