I am Giulia Apollonio, an Oncologist working at "Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori" in Milan, Italy. I was born and raised in Rome (Italy) and I always had a strong passion for scientific subjects. This first led me to complete senior high school specializing in science education and then to enroll in Med School at "Università di Roma La Sapienza", where I graduated with honors in 2016. During my academic career I also completed a study period abroad at the University of Groningen.
During my Med School studies I developed a firm interest in the area of Oncology and moved to Milan to start my residency at "Università degli studi di Milano" back in 2018. Over the years, I have developed a strong interest in the field of mesenchymal and rare tumors and, in this field, I discussed my residency thesis in Extraskeletal Ewing Sarcoma. I then completed my residency cum laude in January 2023. After completing my residency I was employed at the Mesenchymal Tumor Department of the Istituto Nazionale Tumori of Milan where I am currently working, with particular expertise in bone sarcomas and GIST.
